Recent advances in materials science (RAMS-2014)
Materials science, also commonly known as materials engineering, is an interdisciplinary field, applying the properties of matter to various areas of science and engineering. This relatively new scientific field investigates the relationship between the structure of materials at atomic or molecular scales and their macroscopic properties. It incorporates elements of applied physics and chemistry. With significant media attention focused on Nano science and nanotechnology in recent years, materials science is becoming more widely known as a specific field of science and engineering.
The seminar, RAMS-2014, is being organized by the Crystal Growth and Thin Film Laboratory, School of Physics, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli covers the important topics of materials science such as advances in Crystal growth, Thin Films and Nanomaterials etc., to the benefit of the students of Materials Science. Eminent speakers from reputed institutions are being invited as resource persons for this Seminar. The Research scholars and PG students of Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and nanotechnology are encouraged to utilize this opportunity.
